Does anybody have any advice on when creating the DN's on an M1 for VTO if I should configure them as PIDS or Extensions in Hunt Group ? If I configure them of PIDS how should I have them login ? I mentioned to the switch guy to set them to autologin and he says he still needs something to initiate the autologin coming from VTO. Any advantages of using one or the other ?

Thanks

If you are using M1 then to have your VTO's belong to a hunt group you need to make sure that you are using PIDS.

How do you envision using VTO on an extension?
Usually, you have your VTO's login to PIDS when you boot them up.
This is how we are doin g it.

we have them as 500 sets inthe M1. VTO ports in CMe each ports in a place then all ports in a place group and we deliver to the placegroup

  • Well currently I have them setup as analog extensions in hunt group. I do this because I don't want to create a script to log the Position ID's in. VTO will not login by itself. The extensions are working fine now. But now if CTI goes down while call is is in VTO treatment I can not have a default queue to send call to. I understand that you can not call night foward hunt group like you can ACD Queue. So I am not sure what will happen to call. I suppose it will just drop.

That's how we do it, too. We have default treatments defined on the CDN's themselves (on the M1) in case VTO goes down or is inaccessable.
