  • lol....Oddly enough if you go on the genesys training the course books are really great.....

Reading the manuals would help....but it would be a close call...

  • I have taken a challenge exam a while back and happy to tell you that passed.

My impression of the exam is that it has nothing to do with actually running a call center or even knowledge of how to setup Genesys.
Most of the questions were about all those layers and which product is what layer. Seriously!!! Like... guess what layer cfg?dbserver is! Config layer? Services layer or reporting? :)

    You would be surprised!

There is a really good post in this forum from some time ago about what one should read to do well on the exam, and it was mostly Getting Started manuals I think. I skimmed through them because I can install anything with my eyes closed and with hands tied behind my back, but I was lucky enough to memorize what product is what layer. And it saved my hyde during the exam.

I felt like I was taking an SAT test and not an engineering test. Some of the questions were based on play of words. It actually really irritated me, because if I wanted my English checked, I would probably go somewhere else. Someone at Genesys really needs to sit down and review those questions. Are those tests to check our skills or to check if we got high SAT scores in English (760)?!

  • I have completed the Genesys Framework Installation and Configuration 5 day course at Genesys and have worked with Genesys for a couple of year since then.

I would like to go for the CGE exam however...

The Genesys university site states that the ideal path to follow would be to do the Routing and Reporting Installation and Configuration as well... is this necessary i.e. is the Routing and Reporting module cover in depth in the CGE?

Sample papers would be a good idea to get a feel for the style of questions (especially when the exam costs $450 a time!) HP supply then for their exams they even sell a book to guide you through getting certified ...

  • lol.....The exam is totally electronic nowadays so the chances of gettinga sample paper are next to nil sorry.

Unfortunetley Genesys insist that you do all the modules before attempting the exam...particulary when the exam does cover these topics in some detail...

Depending upon you experiance with Genesys...I would think that you could pass the exam...if you read and understood the getting started manuals...AND have worked with the product for some months...
