Anyone know of a Nortel Meridian Switch Simulator? If so please inform me where I can get a copy of it? I have the Lucent simulator but would like to get a Nortel one since implementing Genesys behind a Nortel switch.

Hello, Richard, and HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Nortel Simulator? what an interesting suggestion. I have already heard of some people trying to develop it back three years ago; however, from what I understand, that project was abandoned due to insuficient resources and lack of demand.

I think it would be awesome if someone from online developer group here would consider developing this beast!

What do you think?

J.

Hello Jessica,

I have now received the Nortel simulator for Meridian Link 5. It would be great if someone could create a newer version that supports Symposium 3.0 Rls 25 and provides closer fit in functionality to real Symposium and Meridian 1 systems.

If you would like a copy of the present M1 simulator send me email at rkindree@ariasolutions.com.

Wow! ;)

Richard, I think Symposium simulator would be a really great thing to make. In fact, I think it is something worth developing.
Do you think you could work on the specs so that I would know what to code?

I have polled people in online developer group and we lack theoretical knowledge to develop it. If you could provide us with some specs, then I think it would be a fair game.

What do you think?
Jeff

  • Hello Jeff,

I won't be able to obtain the Symposium documentation until maybe a month from now. I will check with my partners in Canada that are implementing Genesys behind Symposium 3.0 as well. What I can do in the meantime is send you the executable and libraries for M1 Mlink 5. so you can understand some of the functionality that was built in the simulator before. That would be a good start. Send me email to my address as mentioned in the last reply.
