Hyperion Training?

In the place I work, I am in an unusual position in that I am the only person with Hyperion experience.
Now, if I was a god at Hyperion, this would not be too much of a problem, however, I am not. I can do somethings, I can stumble through reports and create new ones.

What I would really like is some proper training. An alternative to this would be to learn from others while on the job, but that is not possible given my current situation!

Genesys does reporting training, but looking at the course details it looks very basic and is not really what I want to spend time on (no need to spend 2 days on things like CCPulse!!).

Has anyone done any Hyperion specific training? (I did do an inhouse Brio course for a couple of days about 6 years ago!)
If so, would you recommend it?
If not, any suggestions on how I could go about learning more about Hyperion and also stat server / stats and the like?

Thanks
Mark

Mark - you could try The Black Chair - they might have something up and running for Hyperion:

I could ask the question again, I know that they did a CCPulse training package. I did ask them about 6-9 months ago, at which point they had not completed anything.
The CCPulse one was well put together (from the small parts that I have seen), so hopefully the Hyperion would be to the same standard.
Good suggestion!

I'm with Mark on this one - you are sure to get a follow up/knock on the door, if you post it...  I wouldn't!  ::)

I do have the Brio Enterprise 6.x disc, which funnily enough is TDK CD-R74 disc, but is actually official (looks dodgy!) from when I did a course back in 2001/2002. Its a touch old though, given we are on 8.3!

Mark,

At BlackChair we have developed a web-based Hyperion course for our employees - we do a lot of cross-training so we don't get stale! We are considering whether to release similar material commercially, but for now we only use the content internally. I would be happy to provide you with a free login to our LMS (online learning management system) when we've finished final tweaks. All I ask in return is your honest feedback about the content and experience.

The material covers an overview of Hyperion, architecture, etc, creating Object Catalogue Extensions and ODBC connections, creating custom reports and publishing reports. It may be of some help, although it sounds like you may know a lot of this already.

Let me know what you think.

Hi Steve,

Thanks for the offer. Anything is better than nothing, even if some of it covers what I have taught myself or remember from years ago. I am sure that it will give me a better understanding as to what is going on and why certain things are done as well as give me some new knowledge.

My email is in my profile, feel free to contact me.

Thanks again
Mark
