Hello Everyone,
I am a little confused and would love some advice...
I have a routing strategy where I call an Avaya announcement through the IVR Treatment in the strategy.  The IVR Treatment calls the proper VDN which goes to a vector to play the announcement and then it Adjunct Routes the call back to Genesys.  The routing strategy seems to pick back up where it left off.  My problem is when the routing strategy hits the target object.  For some reason it does not time out and drop out the red port when I call an announcement the way I just described.  It just sits there.  Our implementor suggested that I load the same routing strategy on every announcement DN that I will use in the strategy (And it works).  So for example, I load the strategy on DN 12345 for my users to call, but in the routing strategy I use announcement number 23456.  According to our implementor I should load the same routing strategy on 23456 as well.  If I do this then I cannot reuse the same announcement DN in other strategies.  Is there a way I can reuse an announcement DN or do I need new announcement DNs for each strategy?
Thanks for all the help!
Perry

Two things here:

1. You can re-use the same announcement, but you cannot route to the same DN twice in a target object. So you need to create another DN if you haven't already. To reduce DNs, I usually create my vector with the adjuncts first, the announcement I want to play and follow it with like 60 seconds of music. I will then configure the target treatment to sit on that treatment for 30 seconds before moving on to next. This allows the treatment to play the announcement I want, followed by music.

2. For router to take control of a call or default the call when the main target timeout expires, you need to assign a VQ, otherwise router will not reclaim control of the call until the treatment is completed, sometimes never.

Thanks...  I think the VQ is what I had missing.  But I am going to change the order of my vector too.  That makes sense.

Thanks!
