So, it is 2008 and after spending a terrific ten days in Ko Samui, Thailand, I am in Tallinn, Estonia visiting my girlfriend and enjoying the remainder of my holidays. I have been tracking the board during the holidays and very pleasantly surprised that people continue to post even when they are supposed to be either drunk, asleep, or too full to think. I guess this is what I call "Genesys curse" - all the scheduled maintenance for our call centers is done during the holidays. This, obviously, is not a practice I condone, yet, there is absolutely nothing short of quitting this business I can do but accept it.

I wonder if other call centers out there have this god-awful practice of doing everything during the holidays. Are there any alternatives to it without degradation in service or risking blacking out our operations in a middle of a call rush?
