Outbound port error no port available

We have 2 small outbound groups we needed to send 2 different caller ID's when dialing out. With the help of Genesys Support we made changes to the existing outbound line side T1 and broke up the full card into 2 cpd servers and then associated them with 2 different agent groups. Since the change the second cpd application does not start and we receive the error no ports available in the logs and oh by the way it does not make any outbound calls. My question is since we did make changes to the line side config do we need to use the install wizard to install the DN's again or should we to totally re-build the dialogic config? ???

Thanks

Jim

??? We don't know what changes you exactly did, don't know your configuration, maybe you should keep this with Genesys guys or at least provide more info.

When you created the 2 CPD Servers what dialogic folder configuration did you create.

To run 2 CPD servers on 1 card you will need to have dtiB1... in one folder and dtiB2... in another.  Then reference these 2 folders in the CPD server options.

It sounds like your cpd servers are attempting to use ports that are in use, probably by the second CPD Server.

Also, I'm not sure this is the best solution for sending multiple CLID's.  What PBX are you using?

The wizard is only to make life easier however at some levels it becames a limitation. Can you post some logs?

I'm specifically familiar with the Option 81C.  But surely it can send different CLID based on a dialling prefix?
This would allow you to use 1 CPD Server instead of hacking the system to use 2.

Unless you are using ASM mode, in which case this is the only way to achieve the result you're after.

Can you post a screen shot of your Dialogic folders from Config Manager?

We are still trying to configure the server to have 2 CPD servers, the issue we are seeing now is that we can start one server and it registers the CPD ports on the line side. The second server does not start and as a result will not register the CPD ports on the line side. The interesting part is that if we stop both servers and then re-start the new CPD server it does start and register the ports but now the other server will not start. I have read all the manuals available and they do not reference any way to do this, but when I open the ticket with support they said we could do it this way and they even instructed me on how to set it up but will not trouble shoot. At this point I am on my own and was thinking that we needed to change the communication port that the application object uses to connect to the server. When I changed this to 6879 it still did not register the ports. Any help would greatly be appreciated.

To set this up in Config Manager you will need 2 folders in your DN section of the switch containing your dialogic ports.  Then in these folders must be the folders pertaining to the specific ports you want each CPD Server to control.

Example (assuming a 60 port dialogic card):

[CPD folder 1]
-recording
-regular
  -dtiB1
    -dtiB1T1*
    -dtiB1T2*
    -etc...
  -dxxxB1
    -dxxxB1C1
    -dxxxB1C2
    -etc...

[CPD Folder 2]
-recording
-regular
  -dtiB2
    -dtiB2T1*
    -dtiB2T2*
    -etc...
  -dxxxB9
    -dxxxB9C1
    -dxxxB9C2
    -etc...

* These folders will need to contain extension / dial port DN objects.

Once this is done you will need to have each of your 2 CPD servers configured to connect to 1 of these CPD Folders, so CPD Server 1 = CPD folder 1.  The option for this is in the general section called "location".

The easiest way to configure this would be to use the wizard to create 2 60 port cards, and then delete the 2nd half of the folders for the first CPD and the 1st half for the 2nd CPD Server.

I'm still not convinced this is the correct solution for you though.  Different dialing prefixes are far easier to manage than multiple CPD Servers.
