I was looking through G3 manual and noticed that it says that TGiveMusicTreatment or TGiveRingback is not supported on G3.

What kind of treatments, if any, can you apply to the call which is queued in a strategy's virtual queue?

  • I think generally, treatments are not supported across the ASAI link for a G3 Tserver however, there are ways of getting around this..

Instead of using the strategy to apply incall treatments, you can add the treatments to the 'vector' script on the VDN where the call resides while it is being routed.

Basically, while a call is sitting at a routepoint in the G3, it is running through 2 scripts the Genesys routing strategy, and also the G3 vector script.

an example of a vector could be (syntax won't be accurate as It's been a while since I last played with the vectors):

    1. adjunct routinglink 6000
    2. announcement 4000
    3. wait ime 100 seconds hearing music

this will send the route request to Genesys and then while the call is queued in IR, the call is also going to play an announcement (example: thank you for calling your call is in a queue) and then play hold music for 100 seconds. music of course be replaced by ringing sound or silence.

  • Thanks!

You were right I was able to get the darn thing to work.
I started Genesys with Nortel, so now, when I am playing with G3, I can't but wonder why it is so different. I am not clear as to why G3 cannot fully use its own link or is it just my very poor level of G3 understanding? What kind of shortcuts are out there to bypass them?

  • I had a vdn set up to point at a vector that just played music. Then in IRD I told it to use an IVR port and specified the low level DN (eg 1234@switch1) in the queuing treatments. This also worked well.
