MCP Capacity for GQM

Hi

Is there any limit for the number of calls MCP can handle when we configure for GQM? Or how can i decide how many MCPs I need based on the call volume.

In general there are three levels where the number of active calls will be limited:

The procedure is still same as for standard LRG with MCP. So, first level where you can set maximum number of calls per MCP is LRG configuration, general level is on RM object - on RM you can configure default port capacity for LRG which have not configured port capacity. All is described in documentation, so try to read carefully in future

MCP's have a limited capacity per application before voice quality is affected by the load, what that is depends on the type and version of OS.  The limit is for call recording in general, not for GQM.  RHEL5 is the most efficient, then Windows Server, then RHEL6.  The MCP hosts require much larger CPU and RAM than you'd expect, we run 8 CPU's and 16 Gb of RAM with 2 MCP's per host, I allow for 100 recording seats per MCP, we also use them for IVR messaging etc.

Genesys have done load testing on the capacity of MCP's, you should be able hold of the results if you chase it hard enough.  However, I would do your own before following their results blindly.  Personally my results have varied anywhere from 80 - 200 calls per MCP depending on the OS, the Genesys results were over 300.

Another note, when the MCP's get close to capacity they ramp up their CPU usage exponentially, and will crash the host if left unchecked, I've seen this within minutes so don't skimp on the resources.
