We want to use our Meridian Mail to present messages and announcements while calls are waiting in CDN. We are using G6.5 with URS.

Dennis,
I don't believe this is possible (unless its changed with G6.5). Meridian Mail is only accessable within CCR or Symposium as its interfaces are't exposed to 3rd party software:(

Thank you for that information, we also discovered in the Genesys 6.5 Doc (TServer for Meridian) that those treatment are incompatible.

Again...
thank you

Dennis,

Were you able to implement an alternative to present messages and announcements? We are upgrading shortly to G6.5 and URS and are planning to use our IntervoiceBrite IVR.

Thanks

We are going to devlopped an IVR application using IVS Server. I guess this is what every body is doing when migrating to URS,

Good luck in your migration project.

We are doing the same thing on a G3. While we cannot get URS to get the PABX to play a treatment (Music & Announcements) we have found a way around it. We just insert 'do_nothings' into URS for the duration of an announcement which is actually played on the PABX. Can the Nortel do something similar? Just a thought

  • Sounds like what you need is Genesys' VTO (Voice Treatment Option) you can give music from the PBX, but announcements, as others have stated have to come from somewhere else.
