Watchdog not starting
« on: May 13, 2016, 09:00:52 PM »
Hi , in development server, we have some apps and one such app is Watchdog. This server is failing to start. When I attempt to start from Windows services(services.msc), the error message I get is "The service started and then stopped. Some service stop if they have no work to do like Performance and Log Alerts service". Because of this IVR service is also down. Hence I cant hear any IVR playing while making test call. Please help. This is affecting my dev task.

Sometimes when you stop the WatchDog service the application don't finalize in Java and you need kill the java instance in Windows task manager and after start the WatchDog in Windows Service. Try this..

Try restarting the Nuance services then try to start.

Also, try to start up from a command prompt instead of services. This might give a clue on what happened. There was one time that none of the logs helped, but starting WatchDog from command line gave the hint that in fact the AntiVirus had deleted a dll from the IPCS folder.
