Title: CCA overload?
Post by: Vic on January 01, 1970, 12:00:00 AM
Hi,

we are right now designing a CCA layout for a new site, and it looks like we will have 300,000 requests made by datasourcer to statserver every 15 minutes...

Can someone please tell me whether or not this is an extremely high number or not? DataSourcer is going to run on Sun220R and ODS and Datamart on an SQL server.

Also, should we separate ODS and Datamart DBs and make them run on a two separate machines instead of one? Anyone?

ODS and Datamart should always exsist on at least two differnt physical hard drives but if you can on two different systems. We had them on the same disk and had no end of problems

Hi, DBM,

thank you for your advice. Can you please tell me if Genesys advised you to separate the disks? Also, what type of DB were you using? And why would having both databases on the same disk cause problems? What kind of problems have you been experiencing?

Thanks,
Vic

Hi VIC,

We are currently using 4.000.000 active statistic requests and it works quite well. This is 20 times the number of statistic requests regarded safe by Genesys for an average hardware configuration for one collection unit (StatServer + DataSourcer + ODS DBServer). So don't worry about 300 000 :) or if you are really scared add a second collection unit.

Cheers
