Title: Sip Server and TServer
Post by: bundes on May 17, 2018, 12:42:10 PM
Hello,

I am designing a Genesys solution over an Alcatel environment.

I was running for a CTI less solution, with SipServer and Sip Trunk. It meant that were no csta monitoring of the phones.

But I then found a document (Genesys Application Note - Alcatel OXE R11 with Genesys VPS 8.1.7) that talks about Sipserver coupled with Tserver.

Since then I have a doubt.

Would it be possible to install both ?

TServer allowing to monitor the phones, Sipserver allowing to play annoucments, route calls and recording ?  ???

Thanks for your help ;)

Yes, it is possible to do so... Cavagnaro is the master of integrating with OXE. PM him

Working on it.

I wonder if I would need to use external routing point feature to do so  ???

Yes, you would need external routing point in case using both T-Server (Alcatel T-Server + SIP)

You can use network routing on the same OXE ?

Will it be able to record calls by the way ?

The OXE is able to manage a conf between agent, client and MCP (via its sip trunk)  ???

SIP cannot act as a T-Server for voice recording as your agents will be registered under OXE T-Server. The rest of services (announcement, routing, IVR, etc.) should be done on SIP server level

It means that once the SipServer has reached the external routing point, and then the agent, he is out of the game ? (that's why he can't record anymore ?).

If we use SipServer and OXE, reassure me, you can record  ;D

Hey sorry, I am on vacations hehe
Well, when call is on an OXE RP then you can't call PlayApplication treatment from SIP SERVER as it is another TServer.
So what you do is to route to sip server RP from OXE then you play all your MCP treatments and GVP maybe, later when you need an agent you do a TRoute to an OXE RP and will then send the call to OXE agents via ISCC so you keep all UData alive.
There is a GVP 8 integration guide from Alcatel.
There is very well explained.

Hy cavagnaro,

sorry for disturbing your vacation ;)

I understood that it could work like a GVP installation.

I have a question regarding recording but I will open a new thread as it is a new subject ;)

Thanks.

RTP Will be at OXE phones, with UA protocol, not SIP therefore, MCP is not a supported recorder for OXE in any way.
You need a valid OXE recorder with DR Link or IP DR LINK.
