Title: SCCS on Genesys Server
Post by: steve on January 01, 1970, 12:00:00 AM
I am setting up a test environment LAB and was curious if I could safe space and servers. Can you load SCCS 4.2 onto the same server that Genesys is running on?

Theoterically, you could, but I have never tried. Not to mention that the result would be worthless, because SCCS servers come with a lot of custom DLLs you would never know how your particular Genesys server would operate in a standard windows environment.
I would strongly suggest against it.

In the worst case scenario, you are better off loading the whole Genesys thing on your own PC.

I wouldn't load SCCS on anything but its own box. Like Vic said, it has a lot of custom DLLs and such and doesn't always play nice with other things. If you want, load the whole of Genesys on one box. It works fine (we are speaking lab environment, not production,) in fact that is the way we did it in Genesys school. Don't skimp on the RAM, just good advice, no matter what you are running.
