Post by: wayne.hartley on August 18, 2020, 02:27:00 PM
Hi Expert Team.

I am hoping you can assist with the below questions regarding GWE Cookies which the security team requires information on. Your feedback would be greatly appreciated.

I would like to know description for the below cookies.

genesys.tracker.serverAlias
genesys.tracker.globalVisitID
genesys.tracker.visitID
GWEROUTEID
cookies.js

•  For all information processed by Genesys cookies we need to understand:
o How that information is processed
o how that information is stored
o how long it is stored for and why
o what purpose the information is used for
What performance/analytics tracking in run on the chat session, how that information is processed and whether it is linked to any of the cookies fired

Your feedback is highly appreciated.

Thank you.
Wayne

I think you better open a ticket directly with Genesys as your questions are quite specific related to security and the product core behavior, thing we don't have access to usually.

Hi Wayne,

- genesys.tracker.globalVisitID – anonymous device/browser identifier (GUID). Used for detection of returning visitors. Validity: 3 years
- genesys.tracker.serverAlias – Identifier (name) of GWE application server. Should hold the same value as GWEROUTEID. Validity: session
- genesys.tracker.visitID – Unique identifier (GUID) of current session. Validity: session
- GWEROUTEID – Identifier (name) of GWE application server. Validity: session (see this link for more details - https://docs.genesys.com/Documentation/GWE/8.5.2/Deployment/LoadBalancing)
- cookie.js - I don't have any information regarding this one :(.
