Title: RAN Treatment
Post by: Dennis on January 01, 1970, 12:00:00 AM
We are using an IVR platform as a RAN source, Each time a call goes to the RAN, the customer hears a ring before the ran starts,
We are using Nortel Symposium, IR 6.5.

Is there a solution to eliminate that Ring ?

What are the other source for RAN you people are using ?
Do you have the same problem ?

tks, Dennis

I seen this posting on the Genesys Support Site... Hope it helps.

You can not use RAN treatments on Symposium CDNs via Genesys the recommended way of playing recorded announcements on the Meridian/Symposium is via VTO or an IVR of some description.

I recommended the following be done:

* Reconfigure the IVR to use AST controlled extensions rather than ACD Positions it is recommended that these DNs are configured a Voice Treatment Ports in CME

* Set up these ports in Places and place them all in a Place Group

* Set up IVR treatments in your routing strategies to target these ports

* Program the IVR to play the announcement denoted by attached data on the call

Thank you Mark for the idea on RAN solution, we will give it a try and see if it resolves the ringing problem.
