Title: Deleting DN’s
Post by: genesysnoob on May 19, 2021, 09:22:22 PM
Generic question

If we delete virtual queues or any dn, will we be able to pull reports of those dns later?

We deployed new dns in the production environment and want to decommission the old one , just in case if we want to pull reports from those dns what happens

Sure, those data are stored in CCA or InfoMart DBA, CfgServer has nothing to do, or...shouldn't...bad practice in CCA was to use CfgServer tables to try to get DN infos but still, there are tables in CCA that stores that information as well.
Maybe validate just that if using CCA you have the obj_to_obj tables populated before you decommission old infrastructure.

Depends on which tool you use to retrieve historical reports!
If you use CCP+ against CCA database, the objects MUST remain in config db, otherwise you will not be able to get the reports.

But if you go direct via datamart database it is OK to delete objects in CME.
