Title: Moving 6.5 to 7
Post by: leo on January 01, 1970, 12:00:00 AM
Hi all, because of the password in 6.5 version is written clearly in the Db, my customer would like to migrate to version 7 (only confserv and cfg_dbserver) in which there is a new feature for hiding the password of user default in the Db. Someone of you had experienced this problem or found a solution to do this with G6.5?
Another question: is there a method to find out (in confserv.log for example) who made changes through CME (I mean from which lan client).
Thanks to all

Regarding the password you can actually change that.
I do not know if Genesys would support it, but you can change your CME DB filed type so that password would be not shown. What DB are you using?

Regarding yoru second question, it is posisble, but you would not be able to tell WHAT PC. you would be able to tell at what time a particular client connected, and WHICH client changed the information. The best way to track would be assigning differen usernames to different admins... Of course, it would not preclude them from accessing confiserver from a different PC. What exactly are you trying to track? Who made what changes?
