Due to the phaseout of Meridian Link 5C module when upgrading to Succession 3.0. I will need to install Symposium Call Center Server. I have gone to my Nortel distributor to purchase Symposium and my question is how many agent licenses will I need. Today Meridian Link just provides the event messages to Meridian TServer in Genesys. I have been told I need 1 Symposium agent license for the current architecture to function with Succession 3.0. Is there anyone else out there with this headache?

I am not sure if it is correct, but if you are not going to use any functionality of SCCS you would not need the license other than that of TServer.
Of course, if you are going to use SCCS reporting, you will as many as number of agents you are watching.
Genesys reporting is pretty descent plus since you are paying for it already, I would forego SCCS altogether and use it as a link only.

We bough symposium to use as a link and had to buy 1 license

Mark,
DMB is correct. If you are just needing to use SCCS 3.0 for it's link to your Meridian switch then you only require a single licence. See if you can work out some work of deal with your Nortel VAR as you don't require any of the other functionality that Symposium has available. On that note you should also be aware that we ran into trouble when we first attempted to use Symposium, and after quite along delay we determined that there was a service that norally runs as part of Syposium that caused us a lot of grief. And while I wouldn't be able to tell you which one exactly. I do know that the only services we run as part of Symposium are AUDIT, MLSM, TSM and OAM, which are all that is require to run on your Symposium box to enable the link. Which is how we have been running our environment now for about 3 years.

Yes, that is all we are going to use it for just the link.
