Title: Adding Agents to an Agent Group without Conf Mgr
Post by: Daniel Alvers on January 01, 1970, 12:00:00 AM
I am looking for a way to add/remove Agents from Agent Groups without using Conf Mgr. Bascially I need to give my Agents the ability to move themselves between groups without placing our overall infastructure at this fingertips.

Any suggestions would be appreicated.

By creating a special Access Group in Configuration Manager, you can "hide" everything except, for example, the Person and Agent Groups folders for persons belonging to this group.
I have done that several times. The problem is that if the person is an agent, you need to have a separate CMEaccount to avoid changing the Users Acces groups right.
You must also configure some Security permissions so that Users cannot log in to CME.

You could also use the Config SDK to create a basic web (or other) app that allows them to do this. You would, however, have to actually license that SDK (and the runtime) to do it...

Thanks for the feedback. With the Config SDK could you tell me what the actual Genesys Product is called? I have heard of the Desktop SDK, is this the same thing?
