Title: CPD dial plan
Post by: Tawfik on January 01, 1970, 12:00:00 AM
Hi,
We have multiple CPDs used to initiate calls at different sites. the sites are in cities A and B. If we have a contact number with an NPA of City A, then if the call is to be dialed from city B, then we do not need to have a 1 before. But if the call is dialed from the B location the number dialed will have to begin with 1. I looked through the documentation and i can't see where we can make use of dialing plans when using the CPDs ? Any idea ?

Off the top of my head; in the OCS settings, there is a setting for Dialling Rules a bit like the "Dialing Location" settings you might find in Windoze.

I think...

There is the option "public_network_access_code". It should be set on the switch level in the switch properties that is in the Annex tab in the section named Default .

It should be set to the empty string in A and to 1 (the prefix) in B.

I hope that helps.

Thanks for the info. Ungortunately, this is not fixing the problem we have. The thing is that a phone number may be toll for one location and not the other meaning that we may or may not need to prefix the number with 1 depending on where the call will be dialed from. I am pursuing investigations on how to do that with an M1 pbx since Genesys seems not doing it .....

You are right, you are better off using your Meridian1 ESN Dialing Plan with FCAS (Free Calling Area Screening) to manage the calls.
