Hi Vic,

Ive done 7.1 tserver with aes but not 7.2 im assuming that nothing would have changed on the connection side of the tserver.

Hi, Ian,

this is great! ;D

It was my understanding that AES was supported with 7.2. Could you post TServer options file? Anything special to worry about?

What is CM 3.1 and how does come into all of it? ???
As you can tell, I need some major learning on Avaya hardware...

Hi Vic,

AES was supported in 7.1 and actually worked with 7.0 but not supported.
From the tserver point of view the aes server is exactly the same as the mapd, you connect on the same port and the same software is needed.

From the Avaya side it is completely different, AES brings together all the avaya api's into one place.
AES also increases (if provisioned) the throughput of the messages from 240 p/sec to 720 p/sec.

CM3.1 is the version of the Avaya Communication Manager (PBX), there have been some enhancements to the call centre software in Avaya in the last few releases such as more work codes etc

Hi, IanDS,

thank you for your detailed reply.

Ok, this makes sense. Question - is it tre that you need T/S 7.2 to run with CM3.1?
Also, what exactly CM does?

Best regards,
Vic

Hi Vic,

you should actually be able to connect and run any tserver version.....but some of the features of the pbx might not work...ie expanded work codes, added uui length etc etc
