Title: can LDS be used in warm-standby
Post by: victor on August 28, 2006, 03:30:43 AM
Dear all,

I am in a little bit of a dilemma here:

I know that in HA, backup LDS can track conn-ids handled by primary LDS. In cold-standby it cannot. What about warm-standby?

The idea is that I need my backup LDS to remember which call is handled by which URS, otherwise, if LDS switches over, and there is an event regaridng a call that is handled by URS_A, there is a chance that it might go to URS_B, thus totally messing things up. HA is probably the best way to go about it, but, unfortunately, our client is not willing to purchase HA license, so I need to see if we still can do it using warm-standby. Has anyone tried anything like this before?

Thanks!
Vic

Hi Vic,

I would say you need hot-standby to achieve described scenario. Application running in warm-standby backup mode is "just" running and it doesn't synchronize its status with primary app.
