Hi, Fibo,

looks at deployment guide for Genesys framework. It tells you every step of how to do it.
If you really just want to get the thing running, you have to install configuration layer and then you can let the wizard do the rest.

The best way to get rolling:

1. read configuration layer deployment
2. read management layer
3. get access to DB and create a database you want Genesys to use
4. install wizard (it is on your CD)
5. just run through the step there

Of course, you need to know what you are doing, and if it is your first time, I think you will end up with something strange.
The best bet would be to identify:

1. do I have PBX or simulator? And if so, what do I use?
2. do I use Windows or Solaris?
3. Do I want to install only framework or more?

Deployment guide allows you to enter all that information in to help you go through the hoops.
If you want, I can put together a simple instructions for you, but you need to tell me 1,2,3

Vic

Hi Victor,

thx a lot for your quick reply!

It would be very nice, if you could put together a simple instructions for me..

1. First, I want to make a test-installation without a pbx. Later I have to install genesys with Avaya Communication Manager.

2. First, I use windows xp and windows 2003 server. Later, I want to install it on solaris 10.

3. First, I only want to install the framework with its most important components..

thx!

Fibo

Hi Guys,

Why doesn't one of you put what you have on the Wiki (www.thegenwiki.com) and then everyone can add to it?

I wouldn't be surprised if a rather good document was produced in next to no time at all?

You could go to www.thegenwiki.com and click on the "Log in / create account" link in the top right corner of the page, create a username and then you'll have edit permissions....

Easy really  :)

After several sleepless nights and many days of not doing my work, here it is! Announcing the long-awaited "how to install Genesys andd live to tell about it" installation manual.  It is not pretty, but it works and that is all that matters. I will add URS and StatServer soon.

In the meantime, try it, and if you cannot get it to work, just ask :)

Good luck!
