Can anyone explain how Genesys T Server is used in conjunction with the Siebel product? Is the Genesys client used, or does the Siebel client get used with a direct link into TServer? If the latter is the case, what type of functionality does that give to Siebel everything that Tserver supplies, or is it just a subset?
Thanks in advance.

It's actually a smooth integration (for CTI anyway). The Genesys Desktop Toolkit OLE/COM is loaded on the agents desktop along with a config file and in the most basic form your ready to go. We were up in less than a day with the Siebel softphone working. Anything above that depends on your set up and what functionality you want. Our base set up is Siebel 99 , Genesys 5, with a G3 switch, if you have moved to Genesys 6 there are some issues with the integration. If you have any question please feel free to email me.

Siebel and Alcatel just announced a partnership. One of it's results is a very tight integration between Genesys and Siebel. It offers full mulitmedia integration and much more.

Genesys has developed a GPlus Siebel adapter that will integrate the 6.0 Starter App into Siebel, I have seen a demo and it looks like it will work well.

Hi,
Some of the thoughts I was having, if anybody has any answers, feel free to add on:
1. Siebel actually places an extra layer on top of the Genesys OLE/COM functionality so that all configuration is done using Siebel configuration environment. One question I have is "Do we have to use CME then to configure Genesys?"
2. Therefore, Siebel CTI is a client of TServer. However, the list of functions currently supported by Siebel CTI is lesser than those of Genesys. What should we do if we were to build additional Genesys fucntionality into Siebel such as TQueryAddress; can we access Genesys fucntionality direct from Siebel?
3. What is the status of integration between Siebel and GenesysInternet Suite? Something that is not covered by anybodyyet

For the integration the Genesys ICC, Genesys is scheduled to have a Siebel adapter (rather than using Siebel CTI) available as a GA product as of the end of this month. There is a demo that your local Genesys rep will be able to show at that time (and yes, there are those that have it already!) which demonstrates this integration. This, so far, has been a very seamless integration and the functionality has been very well received. You still use the Siebel desktop, but it's essentially got a modified Genesys desktop embedded into the Siebel forms, and very tight integration to other forms in the environment.

Hi,
Siebel has its own email response application; does that mean that we do not use it if we were to use th ICC suite of applications?

digressing from siebel a little bit.....what does one do if instead of a standard app like siebel , one has developed it's own desktop application and softphone and they want to integrate it with genesys...are there any adapters available which can be configured according to one's needs or do we need to build the adapter ourselves.....has anybody any experience in building one?
