Title: custom db server
Post by: elwan on December 08, 2006, 05:28:28 AM
Hi All,
I'm not sure if this is possible, but I'll ask anyway. Our group has no access to the configDB server or any DB server that genesys is using. So I can't create stored procedures or new tables that I can use for routing (IRD). I would need to go to a lot of political process, just to get it done(adding a new table).
I was wondering if I could create a connection of a custom DB server, outside Genesys that would be used by IRD.
Thanks heaps.

Hi elwan,

Yes, it's possible. There are two ways how you can do it.

1st - just create a new DAP (Data Access Point - place where you specify the connection information to new DB) and assign it to existing Genesys DBServer.

2nd - preferred way - install a new instance of Genesys DBServer, create DAP and use that DBServer as reserved for routing related DB queries.

Hope the information above helps you
