Title: Dialogic and Avaya CM3.2.1 for Outbound
Post by: jlennan on December 28, 2006, 09:09:51 PM
Hey all,

Here's the scoop.  Big outbound center, and Avaya's CM3.2.1 is limited to a max of 600 simultaneous calls that can be classified at any given time.  End story, call number 601 or higher waits for a call classifier to become available before it starts classifying it.  This time doesn't count as queue time either, which leaves a customer saying "hello. . ..hello. . ...yooohoooo" etc for a while until they get classified.

Solution:  Bring in some DM/V960A's to launch calls for specific campaigns and get over this 600 limit.

-  Dialogic drivers are installed, CPD 7.2 installed, cabling installed to a TN464F DS1 vintage 31 on the Avaya.
-  CME setup is done
-  PBX setup is done.
    -  DS1 board is configured as Robbed Bit B8ZS/ESF
    -  24 Extensions are created and assigned to the ports of the DS1 board.
    -  Extensions are setup as Type:  DS1FD with a high enough COR.

Problem:
In reading all the manuals and talking to people on the phone, I don't think my PBX setup is correct or my setup of the dialogic fcd files are messed up.  Using the dialogic tools to perform tests I'm unable to get a call launched by dtiB1T1 to either an internal PBX number like an extension or externally to a phone/cell phone.

Any suggestions?

Can you tell if the problem is your Avaya setup or dialogic card?

Configuring Avaya should not be that hard. Are you sure your dialogic is installed correctly? Can you please post your pbx configuration for your dialogic so that we could take a look?

Cheers.

Don't know T1 as well as E1 - but:

x Do you have Green status light(s) on back of Dialogic cards?
x Is Avaya status station showing T1 satations as "In-service on/off hook"?

Experience (albeit with E1) tell me that 80% of initial connectivity problem are fixed by checking the Dialgoc-->Avaya cabling! - dont know why - but this seems to cause frequent difficulties.

Let me know about status lights and definity station status.

[Also - slightly unrelated but CM 3.2.x is not yet supported by TServer! Should maybe be careful of this from a support standpoint.]
