Hello,
Does anyone know of any off-the-shelf softphone applications which handle Genesys 7 (voice + email)? (web or thick client)
Have you ever developed one? the customer I am working with maybe interested in purchasing etc
(I believe genesys provides no such 'starter app' like they did in 5 & 6/6.5)
Cheers

What about GAD - Genesys Agent Desktop?
-
Original from Genesys ;):
- Genesys Agent Desktop (web client)
- DotNetMultimediaSample - sample application for Genesys .NET Toolkit (thick client based on .NET Toolkit components incl. source codes)
There are some independent software vendors offering agent's applications based on Genesys Java AIL.

Guys, thanks for your quick responses..
I think the GAD won't be configurable enough for us, we'll prob need the source code I think..
DotNetMultimediaSample sound promising.. I'll check it out
Cheers

Dane,
I spent a lot of time with .NET Toolkit and customization of DotNetMultimediaSample in last few months so having any questions - just ask me ;)

Thanks René,
Just one question; is this new .net toolkit activeX, ie not AIL?
If so, aren't Genesys removing support for ActiveX, and pushing this new AIL?
Cheers

Yes, Genesys has introduced a new set of SDKs (marketing term - Universal SDK) in version 7 and these SDKs are considered to be a "replacement" for T-Library based SDKs (ActiveX/Java Toolkit and C T-Lib). I have information that T-Lib SDKs won't be available in version 7.5 and start of EOL (End-Of-Life) phase for these products will be announced soon. EOL means that there won't be new versions available but the old ones (6.5 - 7.2) stays supported for next 2 or 3 years (without any guarantee).
The positive side of this change is that there are new SDKs for Java and .NET supporting more features/products then T-Lib based SDKs. The negative is that all SDKs are licensed. You can find documentation for the new SDKs on Genesys Technical Support web site or on Genesys DevZone.
