AsT:
I work on a site that is open from 6:00am to Midnight. Lately I have had a bunch of users that have forgotten the need to log out before they go home each night. I would like to create a sql query that will tell me who is currently logged into Genesys. With that I can throw together a VB script to email the offenders Team leads every night after midnight.
Does anyone have such a query?

catanirex:
Which agent application are you using?
If you are usingn Genesys Desktod/GAD 7 there is an admin tool where you can see logged in agents, and actually log them out!
Otherwise I think you need to enable StatServers writing to LOGIN table, and run a query against that dbtable.
Good Luck!

AsT:
We are running Genesys 6.5. Will be upgrading to 7.2 in the next 3 to 6 months.

cavagnaro:
I can see the logged in agents (only those that use GAD) but can't log them out.
Haven't found the option on any doc neither.
Are you sure or do i have to configure something?
-
catanirex:
I'm sure you can log the off :-)
When you see the agents in the admin tool:
Click on the agent
Click on the DN
There you will see available actions for this DN, for example Logout/Not Ready

cavagnaro:
Hum i connected to another customer and worked.
Will retry on previous customer.
Cool, thanks

Hi, can someone please tell me more about http://GAD_Server you mentioned here.
Is it some sort of product from Genesys that allows you to control all the agents using ActiveX?
Wow!!! Never heard of it...
-
Rene:
Victor,
GAD server is standard Tomcat engine "hosting" Genesys Desktop - web CTI client developed by Genesys. Everything is based on Java, no ActiveX.

cavagnaro:
And it sucks ;D

Wow... And how is it? Do many people use it? Also, how stiff is the pricing?
And what is the official name for it? I looked at Genesys site and coult not find it.
Thanks, Renë

catanirex:
GAD = Genesys Agent Desktop. It can be found under the Desktop section in the price list, next to GCN/Genesys Contact Navigator.
GCN is the 6.x web client GAD is the 7.x client
The admin tool is automatically installed when installing the Genesys Desktop application.

Rene:
Vic,
As written in previous post the official name is Genesys Agent Desktop (GDesktop). I don't know how many people use it but it's bundled with Genesys Express so small call centres use it maybe because they get it in "the box".
I have some bad experience with GDesktop and spent three months last year to make it working properly - agents staying logged in even they logged out -> agents can't log in next day, broken connection between client and server etc. … latest 7.2 release should be ok. But I don't think that web (thin) client is a good idea for CTI.
I'm pretty sure that cavagnaro will add some notes to GDesktop because he seems to like this product

Victor,
It might be my post that is confusing you, where I wrote "http://'GAD Server'.." I was meaning replace GAD Server with the server name or ip that GDesktop was installed into.

vivek:
hay guys... I have a question.
We are using VB based ActiveX customized soft phone. We are using this soft phone for Genesys 6.5.
Was wondering can this be used for Genesys 7.2?
-
cavagnaro:
Well René just to disappoint you on, 7.2.....it still sucks.
Also have same issues, Server stops receiving requests, too damn slow of a call center, it doesn't fit to the speed that an agent needs to make the contact center efficient, it goes totally contrarious to the whole speech you give to the customer on improvement of speed of their cc.
One simple example, we launched with GAD an outbound campaign (the worst idea ever!), so on the calling list was a userfield defined by the user to modify it to a simple YES or NO, and one more to show customer name. Ok, campaign launched, client said "Hello", call transfered to the agent, Agent: "Heeeeellooooooo.........miiiiisssstttteeerrrrr.....oooorrrr miiiisss??? (GAD STill loading),....", "we are calling to offer..........."
So agents were pissed off, customer was like "does it always works like this?" he was first time with an outbound solution so we said we'll try to improve, but another customer that if already had outbound would kick off the table with that performance, we were very disappointed on the speed of the app compared to GCNThick.
So what i did? Develop my own Softphone under the table, i really was pissed off, installed on 2 agents one day and said to them, now test with me. They were amazed, so i made a couple of modifications and fixes (like the transfer ) and let them run a week.
On the end of the week i retrieved historical statistics and BAM! this two agents had an efficiency 4 times bigger than the rest, so i presented, showed and was approved the solution inmediatly.
Similar issue happens to Inbound, as René also mention, agent is on Ready but GAD shows anything, slow response, when doing an outbound call and try to make DTMF (Tones) to dial an extension it was slow as hell. I have not developed nothing to the inbound agents, but thinking on modify the same app for make it available to support both scenarios, more work for me but can't let the customer has a bad idea of the solution.
So that is one of my little histories with GAD, and persist, it sucks.
The admin part of GAD however is cool.

Tony,
Is there not a 'split' option in the forum admin section?
I have only done admin things on the more widely available forums, not smf, so unsure if these features have been replicated!
