Title: Change filters for hystorical data in DMA
Post by: Toni on June 28, 2007, 11:39:23 AM
Hello everyone!

I've a question for all of you! ;)

I've to change some filters in CCPulse and in CCAnalyzer. I added my filters in both statservers, I restarted CCPulse and I applied my filter for real time.

My doubt is when I've to apply my filter in hystorical data, are those the steps I should follow?

-Open DMA
-Deactivate the selected Report Layout
-Choose the statistic I want to apply the filter
-Modify it with my new filter
-Activate layout

I'm wrong in anything?

Should I change alse the filters in the Layout Templates, or changing them only in Report Layouts?

Thank you in advance!

Toni

Your steps are correct.  Change it at the Report Template level will suffice.

Hello!

I've changed filters in DMA, I stopped Layouts, applied the new filters, and reestart the layouts, but the problems is that it seems not having any effect those new filters.

I've the same statistics in CCPulse and I applied the same filters, working perfectly.

Shall I have to stop and start DMA or ETL in order those filters take effect?

Thank u in advance!

I'm not 100% certain it could work in the way you have described.  You will need to restart the associated StatServer for the new Filter to take affect... try that first, before...

...If the stats and filters are correct and you have restarted the StatServer and it is still not correct, you may want to consider creating a new Filter against the Statistic and add it in to your Layout with a new StatName, rather than trying to update your Layout Statistic in the way you have described.  I realise that this will have a knock-on effect and you will have to update any associated Report Templates, but this is an alternative, if your new Filter/Stat combination is not working.

I hope this helps?

Thanks Tony.

Yes, I've stopped and started CCAnalyzer Stat Server in order the filter applies.

I can't make any new statistic, because my layout has not empty spaces for new statistics.. :(

I've stopped and started Data Sourcer, let's see if now it's working properly.

Hi Toni, you can't make a new stat, but I believe you can change an existing stat by just double clicking that statistic within your report template.  If you can't make that change, you may want to take a look at the version of the DMA.  Perhaps you're using an older one.

As for not picking up the change.  As Tony T suggested, you may have to restart the CCA components.
