Title: Support for clustered Cisco Communications Manager (former CallManager) ?
Post by: CTIGurus on August 27, 2007, 11:03:54 AM
Team,

We have been asked to advise on the ability by Genesys to support a clustered Cisco Communications Manager (CCM) setup - other than the ability to just load-balance across two single CCM systems.

The statements made by Guy Ingram (Principal Consultant, Ingram Consulting) during G-Force 2006 seem to indicate there is no native support for CCM clustering ... we have seen no conclusive material from Genesys on this yet. Any experice from this community ?

NB We know that Genesys are a Cisco Technology Partner for CCM version 4.2, however this certification does not cover support for clustering to our knowledge.

Regards,
Dick Swanson, CTIGurus

Good question. I am sure a lot of people would like to know this information, if not for now then definitely for the future.

CTIGuru,

Genesys uses JTAPI to talk with CCM so the supported features are determined by that protocol. You can find description how JTAPI supports clusters in "JTAPI Developer's Guide". I would say that Genesys supports the same as described in the guide.

I did some tests with CCM cluster last year and it worked correctly.

Mark - I don't know the current configuration of your system but during pilot phase we tested Genesys against CCM cluster and it worked correctly...
