Title: Issue installing TServer
Post by: mark on October 29, 2007, 11:24:09 AM
Having a weird issue.

Installing TServer on a w2k box and am getting the error:

'Cannot receive information from Configuration Server:
Error occured while querying Configuration Server for application type "1": Querying Configuration Server failed.'

Config server is on a Unix box (solaris).

I can ping the unix box, i can telnet to the unix box on port 2020.
I can see that config server is receiving requests or atleast a connection from the w2k box, however, confserv logs does not show the error.
I can connect to SCI and CME to the confserv that I am trying to connect with TServer
I can connect to another confserv on same port but on a different box (on same subnet) via the install.

I had a look on the genesys solution website, but the only other example of this happening was actually after the stage that I am at.

For the fun of it, I have restarted confserv and still the same issue, infact I get the same error when connecting to the backup (on a different unix box) on port 2025.

Any suggestions or insights as to what might be going wrong?

Basiquely, do you sure to have a created TServer application on config server ?
What is the version of config server ? TServer you're trying ti install ?
What are the questions you see when you make the setup for TServer ?

There is an application installed on confserv, I am not getting to the part where I can select the application that I would like to use though.
confserv version: 7.2.000.17
tserver version: 7201201b1 for avaya g3

question i see for install, standard request of host name, port, username and password for confserv. Enter the details and hit Next and the error above shows.

sorted!

I blame it on being a monday, that and saying on Friday that 2 tserver installs on monday morning will be quick.

Schoolboy error, using the wrong bloody template when creating the TServer app in CME!
