Title: DMA Amended Report Layout
Post by: alex_sydney on December 07, 2007, 06:39:39 AM
Hi All,

Can someone please advise on the correct procedure to modify current report layout in DMA (7.1)
The situation is that let's say I have current "Queue Layout" setup and the data is being collected. I need two more statistics in that report. What do I need to do and in what order?

Thanks
Alex.

first you have to deactivate the layout because you cannot modify a layout when it is active. But i recommend you after modifying the template create a new layout out of the new template, because i have some bad expirences with Datamart when using the same Layout again.

So the steps in short:
deactiviate all layouts using the Queue Template
Modify the template
reactivate the layouts (or create new ones)

With 7.1 the only simple way is to create a new "queue layout" with the statistics you need.

With Reporting 7.2, you can add statistics to the existing queue layout

Yep... thanks.

However, I still have a problem in ETL Assistant that old/deleted report still shows up. How can I get rid of it?

Did you modified or created a new one?
If modified it will not disapper.
If you created a new one it will also not disappear as it is historical data, if you need to delete it check what tables names it has on ETL_Assistant and delete them manually on your DBServer, or modify their purge date to let say 3 or 4 days...so when purge comes it will delete it.

You could use your ETL Assistant to Purge the records, per Aggregation level - effectively emptying the data on the old/unused Layout.  AFAIK you wouldn't actually want to get rid of a Layout in ETL - or at least I don't think there is an easy way that you can.  Once the data is purged, it will still be visible but that is the only database space it will take up (displaying the Folders - the historical data will be gone...)

If you do Purge, think about the higher level Aggregations - Quarterly, Monthly and Yearly might prove useful, sometime in the future....
