Hi all,
I'm trying to configure alarm reaction script using SCI help "Customizing Alarm Reaction E-mails".
I was believing that $MSG_DESCR was the description field of the alarm condition but this variable is always blank in the email.
Does someone have already played with this and tell me if i'm wrong ???

Ok no one - I believed that there would be santa claus here.
I'm going to open a ticket on genesys support site

No, Sylvanjr,
there is Santa Claus, but he was busy preparing all the presents.
7.5 Solution Control Interface Help is a poorly written document, isn't it?
$MSG_DESCR body of the text.
Make sure it is not inside the text but on a new line. Also, try $$MSG_DESCR :)

I've had the same problem with SCI/SCS. I've tried the workarounds Victor suggested, without success.
I logged a ticket in with Genesys last week, and am still awaiting analysis.

Ok, what i can say is :
- Several problems of empty variables with Genesys < G7.2
- $MSG_DESCR is always empty in case of test with SCI
- $MSG_DESCR is not the description field of the alarm condition but the message sent by the application (see snapshoot)
Hope this will help somebody one day...

I did get a response from Genesys, and the behavior in 7.5 continues as specified by Sylvainsjc:
- $MSG_DESCR is empty if using Test Alarm in SCI to test the alarm
- $MSG_DESCR is filled in if the alarm is produced by SCS.
