I want to change the application name of "confserv", how to change it?
I tried to do as below;
1. change it via CME but can't start config server.
2. change the section name in configuration file then still can't start config server.
Please advise me.
Thanks,
TO

confserv is the very first (and only) "application" which is not reliant on CME settings, for installation. That is; it does not use a DBServer, etc. since it is the very first installed item within the Genesys Solutions Suite. As such, I don't think I've ever needed to change the naming convention and I'm not even sure that you can...
What are you trying to achieve by renaming it? Do you need another instance of confserv?

Not important I just want to change and follow my naming if can't, have no problem.
Thanks for your advice. :)

Hahaha, ok, ok,
there are several ways to do it. The safest (or is it?) is by going to cfg_app table inside your CME database and just modifying the name.
Also, you will need to modify confserv.conf file's [confserv] section and rename it whatever the new name you give it.
I have not tried it, but if I did, I would try it that way. I would expect it to work. Maybe.

I tried it already but still cannot start app. ....

sitto,
Based on your investigations, I would advise (since you have stated that you do not need to do it but you want to try it out) not to try it anymore...! :)
