Title: CME Read Only alarm reaction
Post by: Tefleon on March 19, 2008, 04:04:41 PM
Hi.

Does anyone know of a method using SCI alarm reactions to put the Config Server into Read Only mode?

Cheers

Hi,

There is a "solution" but I wouldn't recommend you using it... You can stop cfg_dbserver = ConfigServer goes to read only mode because of lost connection to the database.

Rene - If you install the Configuration conversion Wizard on the Management Framework CD, it will put Config Server in read-only mode in order to do an export of the config database. That's probably a little safer.

Thicke,

You're right that your way is more safer then mine. But I don't see there is a possibility to script the wizard to switch ConfigServer to read-only mode = useless for alarm reaction that has to work automatically.

I was hoping for something a little safer in terms of being able to put the config.server back into normal mode on an alarm too.

Cheers for the replies though
