Title: GVP and Avaya S8720
Post by: Ben Taylor on April 08, 2008, 01:00:09 PM
Anyone using GVP with an Avaya S8720?

How have you got it connected TDM/E1 or SIP/H323? Any recommendations?

Cheers,

Ben

Hi Ben,

I have experience with using GVP with Avaya S8700/8710 via SIP. The main recommendation is - find someone experienced with configuration of Avaya SES (SIP Enablement Services). It will save you a lot of time :) as most of the configuration has to be done on Avaya side. Of course, I assume that you have experience with VoIP (SIP, RTP etc.) and it won't be your first GVP installation ;)

If you have any questions then feel free to ask... I will try to remember how we did it

R.

Hi Rene,

Thanks for the reply. I've already got GVP installed and connected to a Meridian via E1 but that switch is being replaced...

I know I can use E1 with the Avaya but if there are benefits to SES (and it isn't a real pain to do) then will look into going that route.

Cheers
