I have heard you can use Stream Manager to detect Answering Machines for Outbound Dialing. Has anyone else heard this?
If so, do you know how to achieve this?
No documentation from Genesys states how.

uh?

I was on a conference call with a Genesys rep for Stream Manager and he mentioned some people use Stream Manager as a Call Progress Dectection application.
-
That is using an Intel software that acts as a CPD

Never heard about that..

Yeah it is a new product that Genesys is offering, I doesn't have many details too, it sold from 25 ports to up and has some restrictions. If I can get it will let know more details.

Hi,
You can find more information about HMP here - http://www.dialogic.com/products/ip_enabled/hmp_software.htm. Some notes about using HMP with Genesys Outbound/GVP are available in standard documentation (Outbound Contact 7.5 Deployment Guide, Genesys Voice Platform 7.5 Reference Guide).

I have used Dialogic Call progress detection extensively. I have done over 300+ deployments for outbound solutions with our product and it works very well.
Thanks,

Hi
I don't know who said that but currently it's not possible. All call progress detection currently provided by Genesys uses either Dialogic Hardware or Software. It either uses CPD server with Dialogic hardware or HMP , or GVP can use Dialogic HMP.
Another way is some gateways (Audiocodes, Paraxip) has this capability and SIP server supports their extension headers and behaviours. But it's really not related to Stream Manager at all.
Cheers,
