Hi,
I suspect that most of you have (at least) had a look at the Rough Guides... I have produced. The general feedback has been (quite surprisingly!) very good.
One re-occurring theme/request has been that there is lack of deployment templates/material. So that I can start to produce these types of documents, I'd appreciate your input as to what would be useful in such a series of documents. My thoughts are that the documents should be broken down into the same categories as the Rough Guides... (Framework, Routing (Network and Enterprise), Outbound, Reporting, WfM, etc.). After that, I think it would be useful to break them down into the following, with graphics showing the "build" throughout. UPDATE: Here is an example I am putting together for a Framework Deployment Guide;

Hi, Tony,
I have been planning on writing manuals for a lot of Genesys products, but each and every time, the time is not on my side. Everytime I sit down and start writing something, I end up pretty much distracted by matters that are as related to Genesys, as Christianity (or Science, common sense, IQ and who knows what else) to Scientology.
I better stop and get on this manual train and fast!
Best regards,
Vic

Vic,
I do know that there are various "publications" out there, from Genesys, regarding their own products. I also know that they are few - and far between. I think this is more to do with the amount of Genesys support and assitance; PS, Product Support, Licensing and Management Support (MS) - and more - and all provided as costed services. Also, the fact that the Genesys components are so highly configurable means it's a near impossible task to generalize deployments and installations, so I'm sticking to a "script". I'll be keeping the guides honed down, to a standard architecture and infrastructure model - "my lab". It will keep itself very much constrained to generic terms (where possible) and I don't intend on putting out various versions for the sake of a different OS, Database or Hardware models. The intention is to keep it generic, simple (if that's at all possible) and ultimately re-usable.
I'm sure we've all got our own ideas regarding deployment techniques but I'm equally sure that I've yet to see any being "mass-produced" as an open source material.
Who knows - they might even come in handy, one day... ;)

I'm new to this forum. Can you provide links to your prevous docs?
