Hi!
Since this is pretty much anything goes board, I thought I would vent off some steam here. I am angry. I am angry at myself for doing this to me. It is 11:32 AM and I am ...SLEEPY! :'( Why? Because I stayed up until 3 AM reading grub.org and now I am half asleep, half tired and have half a headache. One of the problems of working with call centers is that those things go on blinking and ringing day and night. Night and day. And it never stops. I wish there was a switch on a back of my head which when flipped would instantaneously put me to sleep. I am sure there are a lot of way of making someone unconscious but the trick is to do so without damaging their health. That is hard.
How does everyone really go to sleep? Am I the only one who is finding himself with finishing work at 11PM and not wanting to sleep and instead spends his time watching Grey's Anatomy. Don't get me wrong - I CAN fall asleep, but I just do not want to do it straight after coming from work, because then it feels like all I do is work... :-\
Any suggestions?

;D Good to know I'm not the only one. I also have that bad (or good???) habit to keep reading work stuff even at home. What I did was to buy an exercise machine and propose myself that after arriving home and take a bath, I do exercise now for at least 30 minutes (procuring it is more) and in that way I stay relaxed and free-mind. Then my bed begins to call me...
I did this because I was too stressed according to a doctor, and that is not healthy. I began to feel effects and was not good. So now I have just 2 weeks with this (will do my best effort to keep it like this) and I can say I'm really more relaxed and health is restoring. I also don't like pills or stuff like that.
Another suggestion from doctor was maybe listen music every 2 hour for about 10 minutes and relax.
Hope some of this can help you Vic.

I read... or play Jawbreaker on my MDA... ::) and some other stuff that takes my mind off the job completely ;) before I even attempt to sleep.
I know that it takes me at least 30 minutes to "settle" and it's most frustrating/annoying when something pops into my head relevant to an item of work, so I do my best to push those thoughts away by planning to do something else just prior to sleeping...
Good points by cavagnaro, though - mental and physical distractions usually work... and music is a great way of taking your mind off things... as they say in my part of the world "...it's all good..."

I read to relax as well. Recently I have been reading about data-warehouses, CSTA and C#....... it'll be no surprise that I have sleeping problems like Vic to, and the problem is getting worse!
