Title: Migration Wizard

Hi,

Where is the documentation or name of documentation for the configuration migration wizard?

I would migrate 6.5 version to 7.5 with this tool.

I complete the problem description:

I have run the tool and :

From 1st screen:
I select manual mode and click to Next button.

From 2nd screen:

I give name of Solaris System (source)
The login and password (geneconf/geneconf)
The port (16828)
and i click on [Next] button

I select the database type:
Type : Oracle
I set the instance name:
Database name: XXXXXXXXX
and i click on [Next] button

I entered the login and password:
Login : geneconf
Pass : geneconf
and i click on [Next] button

and i click on [Next] button

and i click on [Next] button

The Database statistics message appear...
and i click on [Next] button

And Check...
and i click on [Next] button

I define the hostname and port for database connection: (Proxy)
Serveur : XXXXXXXXXX
Port : 16828
And :
Account name for CME:default
Password:password
Application:CME
Host(cible) : YYYYYY
Port (host cible) : 16830

I click on [OK] button...

I choose export configuration data...

[X] Export Configuration Data
and i click on [Next] button

I define the pathname and the filename for export:
[Browse] backup_20080609_1250.sql

and i click on [Next] button
and i click on [Next] button
..........check.........
..........export........

After fews minuts:
Export Completed successfully.
and i click on [OK] button

I would now uograde the Configuration Database:

I choose the Upgrade Configuration Database:

[x] Upgrade Configuration Database
and i click on [Next] button

The window give new user and password:
I give:
MIGRATION
MIGRATION

Before i send theses informations, i have create user to cible server, with a new instance, on Oracle 10g.

The system say i do create a new database. I have created a new database.
The system say i do run the creation database script. I have runned the init and config scripts for database creation.
The system say it's not a valide database.
I have copied the 6.5 database to this new instance.
The system say it's not a valide database.
I drop and recreate database from the new 7.5 schema.
The system say it's not a valide database.

What can i do ?

Hi,

The new schema needs to be an exact copy of the 6.5 version, otherwise it wont work.
The upgrade wizard upgrades it to version 7.5.

Maybe you have created the new schema with the 7.5 scripts and copied the data from 6.5 tables? If so, thats whats wrong.
