Title: CCPulse 7.1 Silent install
Post by: batemanldb on August 01, 2008, 01:32:21 PM
I am trying to do a slient install of CCPulse version 7.1.  The switches I have tried do not seem to work.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

What switches have you tried?

You need the -r option to create the response file.

You then play it back with switches -s /f1(setup file) /f2(log file)

Try this: once you create the setup.iss file, move it to the same directory as the setup.exe, then try the install with only the -s option (taking the defaults on /f1 and /f2). If that works, then try adding the /f1 and /f2 option.

If I recall correctly, I've encountered the following issues in the past with different versions of the CC Pulse silent install:
1 - When specifying the path for /f1 and /f2, put quotes around it
2 - there should not be a space between the /f1 (or /f2) switch and the first quote
3 - if I did not specify only the file name, I had to specify the complete/absolute path for the file and could not specify relative paths
4 - On one or two, the last section was missing from the file - I think it dealt with whether the platform was to reboot. Once I added that section, it worked.

Please post the resulting .ISS file from your attempts, as well as the log file.

Hi,

You can find "how to install CCPulse+ silently" in official documentation - Reporting 7.5 CCPulse+ Administrator's Guide.
