Title: PBX Simulator is strange working.
Post by: ora_tan on September 18, 2008, 08:59:20 AM
Hi, Genesys geeks,

I'm Testing Genesys TServer for Avaya CM (Ver7.6) and, connecting Genesys PBX Simulator 6.5.
However, as for PBX Simulator, a link falls frequently.

New connection established 1880 index0
!! Garbege length = 0

!! Closed connection 1880

Will setting of my TServer be funny? Or will Simulator be no use?

best regards,

I think it only works with Lucent G3 switch. And Lucent is aquired by Alcatel so it would be Alcatel G3 type?

Yup, the PBX simulator (as the name says) emulates a Lucent PBX, it is not for you to test your environment...

Hi,

PBX Simulator 6.5 supports two mode - Generic and Avaya/Lucent G3. If you want use Simulator with TServer for Avaya CM you have to configure it in G3 mode. It should work even with TServer release 7.6 as it still support old G3 switches.

I can't find documentation for the simulator so not able to say what options have to be configured...

I know there were compatibility problems with the 6.5 simulator against a 7.5 t-server some time ago (not sure if it was ever resolved...).  The 7.5 Simulator seems to work much better, but it's probably not generally available.
Can you dump your config of the simulator in to a post so we can see it?

Also, please ensure that the T-Server option: ts-tp-enabled is set to false.

Thank you for good advice, great geeks!

I'm try TServer option : ts-tp-enabled = true -> false.
Periodical link down of PBX Simulator stopped.
I look at the state by this setting in my test laboratory.
(I upload a TS Option&Switch Annex before the change...)

Thank you very much!

Hey I had the same problem, and the same solution helped. But I was wondering what the actual option does. So why is it working when ts-tp-enabled is set to false? just trying to learn things, any explanation is welcome :) thanks very much
