Is there anybody who did that and if so how. ??? The Idea is to play voice prompt after which the call should be immediately picked up by agent. :P

::) Well, again, sorry for the comparison but in Alcatel you do this without Genesys, IVR or anything, it is an internal function, maybe Nortel ACD has this option too? Have you asked your PBX guys?

Nothing comes from them... :'(

Depends on what type of announcement.
Whisper is supported on the Avaya (but that's only to the agent, not the customer)
If you're looking at an agent greeting app, you could build an IVR app that gets conferenced in to the agent. (Avaya has such an application that we've been playing with in our lab).

I not sure, but... you could set a VDN (RP). In the VDN must be configured a correct CTI vector with the corresponding "adjunct routing link", after that, plays an announcement (end the vector).
With the adjunct routing link correctly set, the call control is in Genesys.
After the message, just route the call to a selection block in your strategy.
Good luck!
