Title: Outbound Meridian
Post by: BrOnZe on December 04, 2008, 12:43:27 PM
Is there a way to make outbound calls without a Dialogic board.
We are in a test environment using the Meridian 1, and we like to know if OCS must have a dialogic to dial.  We are not interested in classification at this moment.

No, Because TMakePredictiveCall is not supported by the switch. The only way is to use external server (on dialogic for example).

Found this, crazy thought but is it possible to use CPD server without dialogic cards? anyone familiar with tscall option?
If you configure CPDServer with tscall = true, then all dial requests will be made through TServer. When this is done, you should receive an EventDialing on all MakeCall requests.

If you configure CPDServer with tscall = false, then Dialogic will make all dial requests. When this is done, only connected calls will return an EventDialing. Any call that encounters an SIT, No Answer, Busy, etc.. will return no dial events.
In any case, I don't understand why Outbound Server doesn't have a option to use RequestMakeCall when no CPD is available or needed. I ran into a situation where I wanted to tell my Avaya which trunk to use when making an outbound call, but the option is only available using RequestMakeCall, therefore no good for Outbound Server.

If anyone wants to do this in situations where you are dialing off an ISDN trunk, you can by creating a AAR feature code to activate a different routing, i.e dial *3 then the number.
