Title: GVP -SIP Standalone Deployment Question
Post by: chilushah on December 09, 2008, 07:06:50 PM
Hi all:

We are in the process of converting our IVRs to SIP. We have Avaya s8700 Switch with SIP and Media Gateway.

We currently use GVP Standalone Behind Switch via T1. There is no CTI framework.

I went thru the documentation of GVP SIP Standalone and found that it now requires CTI Framework. Had anybody deployed GVP/SIP Standalone without CTI Framework?

Has anybody used Dialogic HMP with GVP?

Thanks,
Chirag

The reason why it references CTI is so you can transfer the call through the switch using T-Server. If you are just going to host the call on the IVR and hang up or transfer the call using flash hook method, then no you don't need CTI.
