Title: How to configure stream manager without SIP server?
Post by: Kishk on December 15, 2008, 10:20:28 PM
Hi,
We are working with Nortel PBX and we cant use RAN for queue treatment. I want to use stream manager to play queue treatment instead of using IVR.

Anybody try to use stream manager directly without using SIP server?
N.B. Nortel PBX could provide SIP E1.

Thanks

Kishk,

I'm pretty sure that such integration isn't possible as Nortel doesn't support NETANN (Basic Network Media Services with SIP, RFC 4240). You can't simply point SIP trunk (E1) to Stream Manager.

Keep in mind that such configuration isn't supported by Genesys and possibly it could be treated as licence violation as Stream Manager is licensed product.

Thank you Rene,
Yes you are right, this might be a violation for license. I was think in this way to try to avoid a multi site routing between the Nortel T-Server and The SIP Server.

If I use the SIP Server with its streaming manager, is this could be integrated with notel?

Thanks for your feedback

As long as your Nortel supports SIP, yes.
