Title: Need to connect Java email server to Microsoft exchange server
Post by: Ansh on December 17, 2008, 12:37:59 PM
Hi,

I need to connect Java Email Server to our corporate microsoft exchange server.

They are not using POP3 and SMTP.

There must be some section which we have to create in the Options of Email server but i am not aware of exactly what sections and sub sections we have to create.

(What i know is just my exchange server name and User name and password) ;)

Please help me out with this.

Thanks,
Ansh

You only can use PO3 or IMAP. You need to enable one those protocols, about security you can enable them only for Genesys IP Address so no issue with that.

For POP3 you have to create section 'pop-client' and inside it provide a lot of parameters for example 'port', 'server', 'mailbox', 'password', and for SMTP you have to set section 'smtp-client' with a seria of parameters.
All that and a lot more information you can find in Genesys reference document for multimedia.

It's not particularly well documented (at least in the last revision of the pdf that I have), but you can also enable POP3S (secure POP over SSL), but basically as has been stated, ESJ only works with POP3 and IMAP which you must enable on your Exchange server.
