Title: GVP with Avaya
Post by: Gremlin on January 05, 2009, 02:36:44 AM
Hi,

Is Avaya SES mandatory when integrating GVP to Avaya via SIP ?

Can we integrate GVP directly to the Avaya switch via SIP trunks only (i.e. without Avaya SES) ?

thanks!

Yes, however no CTI Framework integration will be possible, GVP will only transfer calls and will have no way to know agents or routing facilities.

Thanks..

I also read in one of the Genesys Whitepaper mentioning ASAI Core / Plus may be required in a "GVP deployment with G3 TServer using Avaya SES".

Do we still require ASAI Core / Plus in a design using GVP deployment with Avaya SES now? (assuming we still want agent and routing functionality).

than you again for any advise.

You have 2 scenarios:
1. GVP alone, which will communicate with your PBX using TDM (AixLogix or Dialogic boards) or SIP. In this case GVP receives the call and then just transfers.
2. GVP with CIM Integration (TServer, URS, StatServers), in this case you will need SES for Avaya in order that Avaya TServer can connect to it succesfully. With this, Avaya TServer and IVR (GVP) Tserver will be able to exchange information and use URS and StatServer info

My understanding is that ASAI Core / ASAI Plus at Avaya CM will be needed when you integrating TServer via AES server through DLG service.  If you are using Avaya TServer to integrate with CIM, i.e. getting information of agents, logging on Avaya CM.  SES is only the proxy to take SIP calls from GVP (for voice path).

Please correct if this is wrong.

Gremlin,

Could you please provide me a document or name of this white paper on GVP deployment for AVAYA SES?

Thank you.

You could also plug some Mediants into the Avaya and ISCC between the Avaya T-Server and SIP Server (with GVP hanging off SIP Server of course).
