Title: How can Sip Server handle backup SoftSwitch
Post by: Gui75 on January 19, 2009, 08:08:36 PM
Hi all,

I use SIP Server behind the switch.
And I have a backup softswitch in case, first one fails.
Do you know how to handle backup softwitch from CME.

Note that I use Hi Path softswitch.

Regards,

Hi,

I assume your SIP endpoints are registered to HiPath softswitch and not to SIP Server. In that case you should define new softswitch and trunk services (DN type of "Voice over IP Service") that points to backup HiPath. These "backup" services should have higher priority then primary ones. You can configure out-of-service control (oos) as well to improve detection of primary switch failure.
